Ashley and Ryan are both from Stratford, but decided to come out to Waterloo for their engagement photos. I didn’t even have to tell them about the petting zoo in Waterloo Park (that just so happens to feature goats, llamas, and mini horses)

They were fresh off their Stag and Doe weekend (which put the venue slightly past capacity) and ready for some engagement photos. Here are my favorites

I’m back from Vegas! (again) It was a great trip. First I flew to Houston to meet up with Marathon Oil for some corporate stuff. But I’ll get into that on a later post.

Here’s some shots from Brooke and Hrag’s engagement session in Waterloo. They’re getting married at The Pines in Cambridge just a few weeks from now – AND THEY’RE HAVING FIREWORKS. I’m very excited to say the least.

They brought the youngin’ along for the journey – he likes candy.

Now I’m off to photograph a Sunday wedding in Waterloo at Starlight with my good friend Scott Williams.

  • Dave & Charlotte - That shot looking down is friggin awesome dude!!!

  • Lucy Bateman - Great photos Taylor, I love your black and white shots.

Friday afternoon I met up with with Emily and the girls in Waterloo. From there we headed up to Winterbourne to meet with the guys – Emily and James met for the first time, and we did some pre-ceremony family photos.

Oh, and it just so happens that I took my new favorite wedding photo of all time:

Here’s a few more from the day:

I really like that last shot, even though it was a complete mistake. If I’m battling two drastically different lighting conditions, I’ll set my main camera to one configuration (in this case, the bright daylight filled bridal room at St. George Hall) and another camera to the second configuration (the ceremony room, dark, incandescent lights) – this shot was taken with the dark room camera. I saw this pop up on the LCD, and instead of switching, I just shot a few more with the wrong camera.
My grade 8 art teacher told me something along the lines of: Art is knowing which mistakes to keep.
I think this was one of those situations.

I’m off to Houston and Vegas this week, so I’ll post something new from my travels before the week is through.

  • lil - i love the photo with the dandilion wish seed things. it’s amazing.

  • lil - oh my god and the first one. it’s even more amazing then the dandilion one.

  • Melanie - yep, that first shot is def. a keeper!!!!! (ps you have a great memory… grade 8 teacher?!?! – good quote!)

  • scott williams - First shot is killer.

  • Grooms mom - Yes… we intentionally left the dandelion’s in the yard.

  • Grooms mom - the pics are GORGEOUS!

  • Bride's Mom - The pictures are beautiful, Taylor; we can’t wait to see the rest. Thank you!

It’s not often that I post wedding photos the day of the wedding, but the stars aligned just right today.

Debbie and Larry had a cute little ceremony at Central United Church earlier today in Unionville. From there we went over to The Tannery in Newmarket – there are a ton of photo possibilities here!

I just started the main edit, but here’s a few images for now:

Berkly Church is an amazing venue. Once upon a time, a magazine I shot for, Truth Explosion, ran their print issue release party here – Cancer Bats, Tokyo Police Club, and a bunch of other amazing bands played. It’s fun to end up at the same venue in a completely different setting.

Random fact: Tokyo Police Club was selling pillows as merch at that point – arguably the coolest band-purchasable I have come across to date.
