Ok – I’ve been noticing most of my Facebook friends list talking about how summer in KW this year…well, really isn’t summer. The good news is, for brides in big heavy dresses and guys in suits with 27 layers…it’s the best summer ever. It’s really great to be able to be outside with a wedding party, and not have to worry about heat stroke.

Jess and Marlon had the perfect day – fluffy clouds in the sky, an amazing reception location, and a beautiful church!

I met up with the guys in Cambridge first – their driveway had the nicest selection of cars I’ve ever seen on a wedding day..needless to say, they took their own cars instead of a limo.

From there it was off to the girls place, and eventually St Clement’s Parish in Preston (Cambridge). This is without a doubt one of the nicest churches in Cambridge.

After the ceremony it was off the the Elm Hurst Inn in Ingersoll – and what a beautiful place it is! Bella Wedding and Event Planning was on staff in full force and made the day run flawlessly. My friend Tim randomly showed up to DJ – I had no idea he was working the same event until he was loading in.

Here’s a preview of the day!

I have found it. My favorite photo location in the world (so far)
In Brooklyn, right at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge (before you reach the Manhattan Bridge) there are more photo opportunities than you could ever imagine. I’m sure to the locals this place is probably over used, and a little bit cliche, but it’s all new to me.
You can do the usual touristy shots with the famous bridges in the background, or you can head over to the amazing (graffiti) murals, or you can just roam the streets and use one of the 10 000 different textures, and architecture combinations that are everywhere.
It kind of makes me wish I lived here.

So yah, I’m in New York City until Thursday – and the hotel we’re staying at is fabulous – The Bentley on the (upper-ish) East side. A few blocks from Central Park, Rockefeller Center and all that stuff.
Yesterday we rode the farris wheel inside Toys R Us. It was epic. Then headed to Top Of The Rock – 70th story at 30 Rockefeller Center, overlooking The Empire State Building. It was wonderful. Also, if you’re ever in the area in the summer, check out the Rink Bar just in front of 30 Rock. In the winter, it’s a skating rink, in the summer, it’s actually a pretty neat bar – almost feels like Las Vegas..except you can’t drink on the street.

Word on the street is that I may be going to a Marc Jacobs party or something tonight? I’m unsure if this will happen – but it could be fun.

Anyways, I’m off to shoot some commercial stuff at Cornell Medical College. I’m interested to see how I will capture a 3D surgery training simulator on still frame 2D – but we’ll make it work one way or another.

I’ll post some more photos from my point and shoot whenever I get to better internet. I’m currently in the hotel lobby listening to the high-end-sports-car-driving-around-tight-corners-at-night soundtrack. I think they have every song ever used in a Lexus commercial.

Yesterday, Jess and Jerrid were married at Rebel Creek Golf Course (1517 Snyders Road in Petersburg – www.rebelcreek.ca) just outside of Kitchener.

Let’s just say the day started out with a less than favorable hurricane – not the greatest thing to happen when you’re planning on an outdoor ceremony later that day. The girls watched as chairs blew about the balcony, and hoped the weather would pass. After a few minutes (hours?) of being glued to the weather channel the clouds cleared. The weather network said we were in for another late afternoon thunderstorm…but that never really happened – we did get a bit of rain over the first course of dinner, but nothing tragic.

I met up with the girls at Puslinch Lake, in one of the nicest houses I’ve ever been in. It wasn’t so much the physical house that makes it an amazing place, it’s the backyard – which happened to be beautiful water, big fluffy clouds, and a blue sky. The place is more of an experience really. Boathouse, docks, the whole bit.

Oh, I didn’t even mention, but Jess is Kate’s sister – and Kate was the maid of honour! Needless to say, I met a lot of her family. Who are all awesome, by the way.

On to the photos:

Slideshow of the day:

I had a blast at Brooke & Hrag’s wedding.

The ceremony was at Hauser Hall in Heidelberg, followed by the reception at The Pines in Cambridge (Preston)

Here’s a quick summary of the day in a random order:

  • The guys did some shots at Wilfong and Son gas station out in Doon (Kate’s great grandpa + grandpa’s old gas station)
  • Kate did makeup for Brooke, her sister, and a few other girls.
  • Hrag has a spiffy new watch
  • Brooke has a spiffy new sound system that features Jai Ho
  • The girls got ready at the Waterloo Hotel in uptown (near Symposium)
  • Their reception had a full length firework display.
  • We ran a photobooth, and printed/framed 5x7s for the guests. (Thanks for helping, Marshall Angus)
  • The entire day was amazing.
  • I’m so happy they chose me to document their wedding day.
  • They’re in Paris right now. Lucky.

Alright, on to some pictures:
