Spring Update from Taylor Jackson

In the month of March I was home for 3 full days. The rest of the time we spent travelling. Lindsay and I met so many amazing people, and saw some amazing places.

It started off by being featured in The Globe and Mail. During the interview, I realized that I actually started working with photoshop and photography when I was 12 years old.

March 1st – Las Vegas.

I was in Las Vegas to speak at a conference for photographers, but I wasn’t there to speak about photography. I was there to tell a 3000 person audience at Ignite How To Travel The World For (Nearly) Free (link to e-book).

We also did a few other things. Like went to the Grand Canyon in a helicopter.

As well as having some pretty remarkable suites to stay in (see the Video above)

After Vegas, I headed to Lake Louise to visit a friend, before heading to Canmore to do video for a wedding.

I flew from Calgary up to Yellowknife for an engagement session. We spent the night outside in the -40C temperature capturing a few photos of the Northern Lights.

Global News liked one of the photos so much they put it in the news.

Wedding Trends Magazine also liked Shiera and Alejandro‘s wedding so much they put it in their magazine!

From there we headed out to St. Maarten for Amanda and Matt’s wedding.

Air Canada Rouge might end up using the photos in few more locations over the year!

Now that it’s April, I’m looking forward to a few things:
– Writing a book for CAA about how to take better photos on vacation.
– Travelling back to Las Vegas to cover NAB 2015 in a very unconventional way.
– Continuing to build our luxury travel magazine, Q. Oliver.
– Travelling to Italy to photograph a gallery show that will debut sometime over the summer and fall around the world in physical galleries.

On our Italy trip, we’re also bringing a documentary crew to capture the behind the scenes process – as well as we might end up making a pilot for a television show.

Mark Araujo is in charge of the video side of the Italy trip, and charted out our course on Google Maps earlier this week:
